Why are there so many Wet Edge samples?

August 13, 2015

WeT Edge offers many product colors and at times it can be a bit overwhelming to make a pool finish choice with so many options.  Over many years in business we've grown and adjusted our product offering based on direct feedback from our customers.  There are all different types of pool owners with a huge variety of expectations and desires in pool finish color, water color, texture and of course price.  What we've ended up with (for now) are six distinct product lines designed to meet the needs of virtually any pool owner.

Understanding that our finishes use the same time tested components, but with slightly different combinations may make the decision process easier.  We have quite a few finishes that use the same pebbles, but have a different pigment to color the cement.

The Prism, Satin and Pearl Matrix have the mix design except that the pebbles are sized differently.  In fact the water color is the same and the difference in the pebble size is only noticed when the pool is viewed up close.

Adding colored accent stones or glass beads maybe the only difference between some products.

Changing pigments or adding a little blue accent will vary the sample slightly.

The pool finish samples are wonderful at showing what the pool finish will look like standing at the edge of the pool.  The samples will not give you a sense of water color.  Without a body of water to reflect the sky and the surroundings of the pool.

The finish color plays an important role in determining the swimming pool water color, along with other variables such as pool size, the surroundings including hardscape and foliage and sunlight also are factors that influence water color.  Often times the addition of one ingredient changes the look of the pebble close up, but the slight change has no influence on the water color.  An analogy for these slight ingredient changes might be to baking. Cakes are made with the core basic ingredients, flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs and water.  One small variation to the recipe might be to add walnuts to the mix.  A  recipe might call for 6 tablespoons of cocoa, but adding 2 tablespoons of peanut butter along with the cocoa would give a flavorful twist.  As long as the core ingredients are used in a pool finish such as aggregate, cement and water in the correct percentages the little variations to the recipe will just add a bit of distinctiveness.  As you can imagine the possibilities are endless.
